7 Month Bumpdate
OFFICIALLY IN MY THIRD TRIMESTER!!!
Gender: Hopefully still a girl haha. This is actually the first time we haven’t scheduled a 3D/4D ultrasound. At first I was kind of bummed, but now I’m okay with it because I really do want to be surprised how she will look when she’s born!
Baby’s heart rate: In the 160s at my last appointment. BUT it was so high because I had just finished drinking my super sugary glucose drink. But she was going crazy in my tummy!
Glucose Test Update: I passed it! I was suppose to stay under 135 to be considered non gestational diabetic, and I got 116. Literally the lowest in all my pregnancies! So hooray to eating all the sweets haha.
Weight/weight gain: 136 lbs. So I gained about 2 lbs since my last appointment, but in my defense….I didn’t take my shoes off, nor did I get to go poop that morning. So I’d say 135lb lol.
Baby is the size of an: EGGPLANT! Gross, I hate eggplant! “Putting on layers of fat, your baby now measures about 14.8 inches from head to toe and weighs in around 2.2 pounds.Inside your 28 weeks pregnant belly, baby’s starting to develop more fat, so his or her once-wrinkly skin is starting to get smoother. In pretty amazing news, baby’s practicing breathing. Your 28-week fetus’ lungs are mature enough that if he or she were to be born now, he or she would probably survive. Wow!”
Maternity clothes: Lol why am I so cheap? I just don’t want to pay for maternity clothes, especially since I know this is my last baby. Now to answer the question…no maternity clothes yet. I’ve been living for maxi dresses, swing dresses, tank tops and unbuttoned shorts haha.
Stretch Marks: Just one, the one that I found 2 weeks ago…but now I can’t find it, so maybe false alarm?.
Cravings: Avocados for sure. Literally can’t go a day without eating it!
Sleep: I’ve been sleeping like crap lately. I just have a hard time getting comfortable because my hips have been hurting a lot lately. So I find myself wide awake at like 3am.
Movement: She’s WILD. I thought maybe just maybe she’d be the calm one. but how she’s been in my stomach having a dance party every night!
How am I feeling: Super emotional. Like every song I hear I associate with either the baby, my husband or the boys and I start crying!
Still breastfeeding Joel?: Not at all!! It’s been like 3 weeks since he’s latched on!
Any exciting updates to share: We started Laila’s nursery and it’s just about complete. We just have to hang her mirror, custom sign and macramé plant holder up. We also have to get a throw blanket for the glider, white curtains, along with a few dresser organizers. And we also have to spray paint her curtain rod. Right now it’s black and there is absolutely nothing black in her room, so we’re going to spray paint it a matte gold. And that’s really it for her room.
Next week my husband and I are going to Scottsdale Arizona for our baby-moon, so that’s super exciting. As much as I’m going to miss the boys, I think the second I walk into the airport and I don’t have to deal with car seats, strollers or wrangling 3 little kiddos, I won’t care anymore haha. Our plan is to relax as much as possible and to go sight seeing .We’ve never been to the desert, so it’ll be a lot of fun to experience that side of the country. A lot of people are saying I’m brave to endure Arizona’s heat, but I think we’ll be okay. Florida doesn’t get as hot, but we have ridiculous amounts of humidity that make it feel just as hot and worse, sticky out. Heat is nothing this Florida native can’t handle.
Also our baby shower is in 3 weeks! We’ve solidified everything with the vendors, caterers and décor so it really feels official. People are starting to RSVP so that’s even more exciting! By the way, if you’re expecting and haven’t worked on your baby registry yet, check out THIS POST I did for must have registry items, and a few do’s and don’ts of making your registry!
Things that I’ve been loving
- Made by Mary Necklaces: I have been wearing my necklaces literally every single day since I got them. I will completely change up my outfits so I can wear them. I guess what’s so special about these necklaces is that no matter where I go, I carry apart of my children with me. All 4 of their names fit on the pendant, and people constantly ask me “what does your necklace say” and when I let them look up close, I get all the oooo’s and ahhh’s. I have owned a lot of personalized items in the past, but never anything with my kids’ names on it. Another thing I love about the necklaces, they’re good quality. A lot of times you see necklaces sold online and they’re crap quality or they make your neck turn green. Made by Mary is the real deal, and my neck has not turned green haha. I’m excited to be adding another one to my little collection soon! My husband plans on buying me the Zola disc one and putting our anniversary date on it, to go along with my bar one. Because our anniversary date of 09/21/2018 was the beginning of it all. Without him, there wouldn’t be these 4 precious babies of mine. Anyways, this necklace makes the perfect anniversary gift, push present, Christmas or mother’s day gift for the special lady in your life (wife, sister, mother, daughter).
- The gym: I’ve always been active in the gym, but with this pregnancy I’ve been consistently going because I get a little break from the kids haha. But in all honesty, it makes me feel good about myself. I know for the next 10 or so weeks, I’m going to continue to pack on pounds but I don’t want to get at my max weight when I’m 38ish weeks pregnant and think, “man, I could’ve weighed less or been more toned had I just invested 3 hours a week to just get some cardio and light weight training in”. I want to know that if I gain only 25 pounds or 60 pounds, I stayed as active as possible as much as I physically could. Also I know that by working out, it helps with labor and delivery AND recovery, rather than being inactive for 40 weeks (just because I’m pregnant and can do whatever I want). So that’s my rant about why I work out consistently while carrying a baby.
- OOLA for Women Book: I just started reading this last week and it’s already changing my mind and creating more positive thoughts. This book focuses on how to balance the 7 keys areas of your life, to have less stress, a sense of purpose and to reveal the greatness within you. The 7 key areas of your life are the 7 F’s. Fitness, Finance, Family, Field, Faith, Friends And Fun
So yeah, that’s really it for this week! My next update will be probably after the baby shower, and I’m real excited about filling you in on that! Hope you all have a great week, and thank you for reading!!
