Tuft & Needle Mattress HONEST review

Finally, my husband and I are getting good sleep. Shoot, Laila too, since she sleeps in our bed. We have been sleeping in our new Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress for a little over a month now and we are obsessed! Prior to this mattress we has another memory foam mattress, that was good but it just didn’t check off all the boxes, and meet up to BOTH of our needs. A mattress that works for myself (side sleeper) and my husband (stomach and stomach sleeper), was really important. We researched other mattress brands for awhile and ultimately, we ended up going with the Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress. The mint is a little different than the original Tuft & Needle Mattress, both great quality, just tge mint met all of our needs.

Comparison of the Original Tuft & Needle and the Mint:

Cooling: Above is a screenshot from their website. But what I can say about the mint, that was a major contender for us is that it supposedly kept you cool all night long. Our previous mattress retained heat (although it was “cooling”), I would literally wake up drenched in sweat, and it was worse when I was pregnant. So we needed something that wouldn’t make us hot at night. When we read reviews on the Mint, we knew that was the one for us.

Edge support: Poor Edge support is a common thing for memory foam mattresses, we know that first hand. I do not like the look of sagging edges on a bed. If you solely use your bed for sleeping and you don’t ever sit on the edges, this isn’t a big deal. But for us, we sit on the bed so strong edge support is important.

Black cover: The bed is black, well dark dark gray!! We co-sleep and I can’t tell you how many times Laila has exploded her diaper and it leaked through and onto the mattress. Having a dark color mattress was something we never cared for until we had it. It makes a difference! Plus that black cover is super thick and adds coziness to the mattress.

What to expect:

After you make the smart decision to buy a T&N Mint mattress, everything you need will come in a big ole box within 4 days, right at your door step. If you catch the UPS guy when he’s dropping it (aka stalk him haha) he can bring it into your house, if you get a king, its exactly 100 pounds.

The bed comes double packaged, so a box within a box, and inside the 2nd box is the bed wrapped air tight. You will also find your pillows in there if you ordered some–which I highly recommend (I’ll go into detail about the pillows shortly).

After you take the bed out of the box, and cut open the air tight packaging, the bed will slowly start rising.

What else should you get with your bed?

The pillows: My husband and I got two king sized pillows and I SWEAR by them! We  have gone through our fair share of pillows, and neck aches. So when we slept with these pillows, we both woke up that morning amazed at how amazing our sleep was that night. You can have the best mattress in the world, and it wont matter if you’re sleeping on a bad pillow. So I highly recommend getting the pillows along with the mattress.

The Sheets: We got the Percale Sheets from Tuft & Needle, and good sheets is another thing I swear by. They make these sheets to compliment their mattress. Not just for looks, but for optimal sleeping conditions. We know the bed has the best materials in them to make them cooling, but if you have terrible sheets that lock in heat, your cooling mattress can’t do it’s job. These sheets+T&N Mint Mattress are a game changer!

Bottom line, Would we recommend?:

If my answer isn’t obvious by reading everything from above, YES!! We love the bed. My husband and I haven’t slept THIS  good in years (excluding the Four Seasons Bed). If you’re reading this, you’re probably on the market for a new bed and I give this one a 10.5 out of 10. That’s how much I really love it.
