Our stay at the Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach

For Spring break we decided to be brave and take our family of 6 on a beach vacation. This is actually a vacation I booked back in June of last year. I was about 7 months pregnant with Laila, and planned it all out perfectly. Whenever we travel, we always stay at Embassy Suites or Hilton’s with an upgraded suite. If you have 2 or more kids, you’ll quickly learn that Suites are the only way to travel.

Some features of the resort:

• 10 minutes from historic downtown
• Two-room and family suites, complimentary breakfast and free WiFi
• Children’s activities, bicycle rentals and water sports activities–the kids got to enjoy the activities. The lady who ran it while we were there was AMAZING. She took the time to fly a kite with the boys!)
• Starbucks loacated in the Lobby–and it’s a real starbucks. not a “proudly brewing” starbucks. My husband and I got our Venti Caramel Cloud Macchiato with extra shot os espresso every morning!
• Harvest & Reel on-site signature restaurant, Castaway Cantina pool bar and Rhum lobby bar– We ate here on our last night and the food was supperb. My husband ordered a steak and literally every single bite he was talking about how amazing it was. And I ordered myself Caesar salad with chicken, and it was delish. The kids’ of course got chicken tenders and fries, and the portion was large enough for all 3 of them to enjoy!

Why we chose St. Augustine Beach?:

St. Augustine is absolutely beautiful. It’s located in North Florida, just 40 or so minutes south of Jacksonville. There is just so much to do, see and eat. It’s a city filled with so much history, and fun colored buildings, aka Instagram worthy photo spots. You know I love any opportunity to take good photos. We went to St. Augustine when Laila was 3 weeks old, and really got to do all the touristy stuff, so we knew that when we’d return for spring break we’d just get to enjoy the resort and the beach.

Why Embassy Suites St. Augustine?:

Let me start off by saying, this resort is brand spanking new. Like probably younger than Laila. Every time my husband and I would plan weekend getaways for ourself, we never considered St. Augustine because the hotels there just weren’t what we were looking for, and the amenities could never match up to Embassy Suites. Well one day when I was 7 months pregnant, I went on the Embassy Suites website to look up other Embassy Suites around us and I saw that there was a new one “opening soon” at St. Augustine Beach. BOOKED in seconds. I looked at the “plans” of the hotel, not even actual images and I was sold.

So let me answer your question…

We love Embassy Suites St. Augustine Beach Resort because of what they offer.

1. Free breakfast HOT breakfast: They offer cooked to order omelets, pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, breads, juices/soda, muffins, and coffee. When you have 6 mouths to feed, and 3/6 of those mouths require food the second there eyes open, it’s amazing to have FREE hot breakfast just steps away from your room.
2. Free Managers Reception: All you can eat snacks, and drinks (certain beers, and wine, sangria, and other mixed drinks). This is a winner for my husband!
3. Large suite rooms: When you have kids, you realize how important large rooms are. Not only for them to have space to spread out, but for night time, we cannot sleep in the same room. The kids go to bed at 8pm, and my husband and I go to sleep at like midnight. So having a nice large suite is what drew me into this resort.
4. Amazing pool/ beach access: I am all about a nice pool that the kids can play in, and my husband, Laila and I can lounge by. And you cannot forget that this resort is located right off the beach next to Anastasia State Park! So because there is a state park next to it, its literally all beach and sand dunes to the left of the hotel, no other developments, nor will there be. It’s absolutely stunning.

We stayed in a 1 king bed corner 2 bedroom suite. Renaldo, Laila and myself slept in the bedroom in the king bed. RJ and Elias slept in the living room sofa bed, and Joel slept in a playpen, also in the living room.

All in all, we had an amazing time. This is definetly a resort I recommend to anyone whether you’re traveling from up north, or a local just trying to getaway. The hotel staff is prompt and friendly. It’s clean and crisp, and definitely a property Hilton takes pride in.
