Chicco Next Fit Zip Max Review

Celebrating Laila Turning One and Baby Safety Month with Our Chicco NextFit Zip Max

This post is sponsored by Chicco, however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own!

The time has come for Laila girl to move onto a new car seat. The infant seat she had since birth has finally reached the end of the road, and perfect timing for her first birthday and Baby Safety Month. Now this is my 4th time buying a convertible car seat, so I know exactly what I want from a convertible car seat, what I don’t want, and the importance of extra safety features.

When our oldest was ready to graduate from the infant seat to the convertible car seat, we chose the Chicco NextFit Zip. We loved its sleek looked and how the fabric felt. When I had my oldest, I was very young, and not too knowledgeable on car seats, safety features, and which one is rated higher. It wasn’t until I got pregnant with my 2nd son that those type of things really mattered to me. When I started researching, “Best Convertible Car Seats,” Chicco’s NextFit line always pops up among the top seats. That’s when I realized, we had actually purchased a great seat for our oldest son. So from then on, we have been BIG fans of Chicco products, and how they really think through the little details on their car seats that make parents lives easier.

If you’re reading this, you may be researching car seats that offer extended rear-facing like Chicco’s NextFit Zip Max Convertible Car Seat, and look no further, I am going to share all the specs of this great seat, and how much we are loving it so far.

But first, did you know September is Baby Safety Month? Now is the perfect time to refresh on car seat safety best practices. Also, did you know, the week of September 15 – 21 was celebrated as National Child Passenger Safety Week?

Another fact that I found surprising–it’s estimated that 75% of car seats are not used or installed correctly. That number is just way too high! I encourage you, whether you’re a first-time mom or a fifth-time mom, to do a proper check on the installation of your car seat!

About Chicco:

First off, Chicco is not pronounced (chee-ko) it’s pronounced (kee-ko). Mind blowing right? I was saying it wrong for a while too!

Chicco has become a household name throughout the United States, and has been manufacturing baby gear for decades, including the #1-rated KeyFit 30 Infant and NextFit Convertible Car Seats, the Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seat, and a full line of playards, highchairs, car seats, strollers and more.

About Our Chicco NextFit Zip Max:

2 words, it unzips. That is a total game changer for me. I have had my fair share of diaper blowouts, so this is everything to me!

Laila can also stay in the rear-facing position up to 50 pounds, and this seat has 25% more legroom – a real win for her and me!

But onto logistics now:

My honest thoughts of the Chicco Next Fit Zip Max Car Seat:

Lots of Legroom while in Rear-Facing Position: Obviously I LOVE IT, but I have my reasons why! First off, my husband is not tall, but he swears he is, so having ample legroom as a driver with a rear-facing car seat behind the driver seat is important to us. The Chicco NextFit Zip Max does not take up a lot of space while in the rear-facing position. It’s as if it reclines within itself. That was a major reason why we decided to get this car seat with Laila.

Easy to wash: I cannot tell you how many diaper blowouts I have had to clean out of a car seat. So being able to just unzip the car seat and throw into the wash makes such a difference and makes maintaining the car seat so much easier as a busy mom always on-the-go.

Easy to install: This car seat comes equipped with SuperCinch force-multiplying tightener and LockSure belt-locking system with vehicle LATCH,so you know exactly where to route the seatbelts. There’s no guessing where the seatbelt goes, or if it’s in the right place.

All in all, this is a brand we love and trust! We’ve been a loyal Chicco family since 2012! We feel 100% comfortable putting Laila in this seat and can’t wait to watch her grow big while in this seat! I highly recommend this seat for any family – just head to your local baby store, or Chicco.USA.comand check it out. I guarantee you, you will fall in love. Now how are you celebrating Baby Safety Month?
