Baby Shower Gift Basket Ideas

Baby gift basket for baby girl

I absolutely love baby stuff. And love going to baby showers more. my best friend of like 19 years is having her vert first baby. And since I’m 100% done having kids, apart of me is sad to never have to buy baby stuff again. So when I found out that she was pregnant and having a baby girl, the hunt for the cutest baby stuff started all over again.

My love language is not gifting, but I just love gift giving, and putting together gift baskets. As a 4th time mom, I know a thing or two about good baby gifts. After having so many baby showers, I know exactly which gifts get the most use, and which ones don’t. So in this post, I’m going to share with you  everything you need to create the ultimate Baby Gift Basket, and with shopable links- most can be found through Amazon!

What to include in your Baby Shower Gift Basket:

  1. Diaper bag: Pottery barn has the cutest diaper bags! When my sister in law was pregnant with my niece 5 years ago, she actually got her diaper bag from Pottery barn, the exact one that I got for my best friend. But it goes to show that their bags carry timeless beauty. They’re truly classic, and this is a bag she’ll be able to use with her daughter and future children.
  2. Cute Basket to put it all in, and also repurposed for something else later: I got my basket from Pottery Barn Kids, and I chose this particular one because she can reuse it to hold diapers, or as a dresser organizer after baby girl comes home.
  3. Sound Machine BunnyI’m a firm believer in sound machines, I truly believe they help babies sleep better no matter their environment. By having it as an adorable little stuffed animal, baby girl can snuggle with it everywhere they go.
  4. Thick Heirloom Blanket: I love the blanket selection pottery barn has to offer, they truly have something for everyone! When picking her blanket, I made sure it was something her baby can snuggle with until she’s a toddler and even pass onto the next baby. Also I chose a neutral color, because not all moms are about gender specific colors. I love white and greys. (see picture above of blanket)
  5. Cuddle + Kind Doll: This is one of my favorite companies, simply because they have a mission! For every doll purchased, it provides 10 meals to children in need. but these dolls also remind me of TY dolls because they have names and birthdays, and once you get one, you’ll want em all.
  6. Baby Bling Bows: If you’re having a baby girl, baby bling bows are the only ones to buy! Because of the material-nylon, They’re one size fits all. So the same bow Laila wore when she was hours old, is the same bow she’s wearing today at almost 10 months old. If you’re not sure what colors to buy for a gift, I recommend the classic white knot, muave, and blush. Those are some solid first bow colors.
  7. Ryan + Rose Accessories: You must get baby R+R accessories. They make the absolute cutest accessories for babies. And they’re also super addicting. Once you buy one, you’ll want to buy more. As much as I want to say “buy R+R pacifiers”, pacifiers and bottles are the one thing I don’t recommend buying for a baby (that’s not yours) ONLY because you never know if they’ll take a bottle or pacifier, or what kind they will take. So with that being said, there are some items you SHOULD buy from Ryan + Rose.
    1. Pacifier Clips
    2. Rattle/Teether
    3. Cutie Tags
    4. Cutie Tensils
  8. Cozy’s swaddlers and knotted gowns: I’m all about knotted gowns, they’re the absolute best when baby needs their diaper changed. All you have to do in untie the bottom of the gown! Also every baby needs a good jersey knit blanket. Cozy’s are buttery soft, and have good stretch
  9. Lovey Blanket/Pacifier/Holder: Lovey blankets are a hidden gem. I always recommend sleeping with a Lovey blanket for a few days prior to your babies arrival, and even after that way the blanket has your scent, so when you’re away, or showering, basically any situation that your baby may cry for you, he/she can still smell you. If you have a friend whose baby is in the NICU this is really good, because mom can sleep with the lovey, and leave it with the baby at the hospital so he/she can still smell the mom.
  10. Lactation Tea: I love this tea from Pink Stork, It really helps with giving a boost with Milk Supply. I think all new moms can say that they feared or struggled with low milk supply. So giving lactation tea (that actually works) is the perfect gift for mama for peace of mind!

A few additional items you can include:

  1. Solid white onesies: size NB,0-3 months, 3-6 months in short sleeve and long sleeve. I prefer carters brand over Gerber, in my opinion its better quality-thicker, washes well.
  2. Burp clothes: I love THESE ones. I’ve tried a lot of brands, and these are the best!
  3. Diapers and wipes: Ask mom which brand she prefers, and include a gift receipt in case she wants to exchange them for a bigger size or different brand.
  4. Baby Detergent: Again ask for the preferred brand, if not just include a gift receipt. But detergent is something they’ll definitely use forever!
  5. Gift card for any amount: New moms can always use gift cards, visa or amex giftcards are perfect. After moms’ have babies, they’re most likely out of work, so even $20 can help them out, even if it’s for meal delivery services (grub hub, postdates, door dash)!

So these are my 10 items to include a baby shower gift basket. Of course check mom’s registry for additional items she wanted, but these 10 items- and some that you can never go wrong with, when gifting baby items to a new mom and her baby.

All Items were provided by Pottery Barn Kids, Baby Bling, Ryan + Rose, and cozy’s: Although Sponsored, all opinions are 100% my own. These are all items I personally use with my own children.
