Friday Faves: Im stuck at home with these kids edition
So I’ve been with the kids non stop since last week Thursday (that’s when their spring break started) and Tuesday we began social distancing at home. At first I was like, I’m home all the time, so nothing new. But once we were forced to stay home-no Disney, no parks, no random strolls through target, It really hit me that this is our new norm until MINIMUM April 15th.
A long time ago, back when RJ was in VPK I said I would home school him. After Joel turned on me and turned into a wild child, I quickly realized homeschooling, while mothering a crazy 1 year old, emotional 3 year old and nursing a newborn baby would even be possible. So I archived all my homeschool Pinterest boards, and never looked back- until this week. All of America is basically forced to social distance themselves so we can get ahold of this virus.
I told myself we would start officially next week Monday because technically they’re on spring break still. I feel somewhat confident that I can do this because over the summer I did a lot of enrichment activities for the kids, and kept their minds and bodies busy. I’ll put out a blog post sharing all my activities, daily schedule, etc once I find my groove again.
But anyways, all of this just to say, I’m 4 days into social distancing and I’m going crazy lol. When I feel like I’m losing control of situations I like to emotionally purchase things. Thankfully, the things I got (with the exception of a few items) are all beneficial for the kids and their at home learning and a few #TREATYOSELF items for me.
Friday Faves: I’m stuck at home with all these kids edition

- Rainbow Colored Laptop Case: This is NOT a skin! it’s an actual hard cover. I ordered it thinking it was a skin, and was surprised when it arrived. But Actually love it, and the keyboard cover! So cute!!
- BIG Whiteboard: I’ll be using this to write down the day of the week, color of the day, weather, basically all things a teacher would have on their board.
- Little Whiteboards: I ordered 3, one for each of the boys. This will be for RJ to use for math problems, Elias to practice writing his letters, and Joel to doddle whatever.
- Huge Drawing Paper and Pad: When RJ was little, we would get the huge roll of coloring paper from Ikea and roll it out and tape it to the floor. So we’re bringing this back and letting the kids find joy in that instead of the TV.
- Crayola Wonder Markers: Laila and Joel will color on anything if I let them, so we got the color wonder markers so it only works on the special paper, not anything else.
- Crayola Wonder Kit: This one comes with paper and markers! So no need to buy additional markers.
- Crayola Wonder Refill Paper: Got the blank sheets, because I have a feeling they’ll blow through the ones in the kit.
- Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk: The kids will be playing outside a ton, and they love to color so why not get some sidewalk chalk, plus it’s only 2.99!!
- Zara Leather Pants: These run small. I normally wear an Extra Small in their clothes, so I ordered an extra small and it didn’t even slide up past my thighs. So I returned it and ordered 2 more but in a small. Don’t ask me why I ordered leather pants-literally have no where to wear them to for a big, but It made me happy lol.
- Zara Onesie: I just love Zara’s clothes, and their bodysuits are the best. When I did my news interview that’s what I was wearing. So I had to get a few more in different colors.
Thanks for reading this week’s Friday faves. I’m not sure how long ill keep this going because last time I kept it going for like 2 months and then forgot lol. So don’t be surprised if this is the last one 😂
