Holiday Gift Guide for 5 year old boy

I cannot believe Christmas is already here, and the last time I blogged was around last holiday season. Sorry!! But I am loyal to sharing what we bought for the kids. I’m terrible with coming up with gift ideas so I just share what we actually bought and know that the kids will love. To see last year’s gift ideas which are still relevant this year, CLICK HERE!

So without further-ado, here are gift ideas for a 5 year old boy, aka things we bought for Joel. I should add a disclaimer, Joel’s birthday is in 2 weeks so we had a hard time being him gifts for both occasions. so we bought him things that we know he won’t get at his birthday party!!

Holiday Gift Guide: 5 year old boy

  1. Nintendo Switch: Joel got this last year, but a series of unfortunate events lead to his switch being out of warranty, what I call a lemon and no longer working. So we just surprised him with a new one that will hopefully last for years.
  2. Osmo learning kit: I have been eyeing this for sometime now, but finally decided to surprise all the kids with their own OSMO learning kit this year for Christmas. these are great ways to make screen time educational, but hands-on!
  3. Tool set: Joel is always watching my husband fix things, so we got him his very own tool kit.
  4. Hooded Blanket: Joel is obsessed wit dinosaurs and walking around snuggled up with a blanket, so what better gift than a dinosaur blanket he can lounge around the house in.
  5. Dinosaur bucket: again, he’s crazy about dinosaurs so a bucket filled with it will put him in pure bless.
  6. Ryan’s toy chest: I’m not even sure what’s in this, but Joel loves Ryan’s toy review and will stand behind anything he promotes, so here we are buying a toy chest sight unseen and praying it’s worth it.
  7. Lego train set: we are big lego fans, and Joel is in love with trains so we knew this one would be a hit. It gets his creative juices flowing while encouraging independent play.
  8. Dump Truck: He had a dump truck he loved so much but it was pure metal and got left outside, long story short- it rusted and we had to toss it and homeboy was not happy about it. so here is the PLASTIC replacement for a toy he already loves so much.
  9. Spiderman Web crawler: This is THE ONE Spiderman toy he doesn’t have so of course we got it!
  10. Slinky: if you know Joel, you know how in love with Slinky toys he I, like he goes insane when he finds them in goodie bags! So we got him an old school one!
