Whats New At Walt Disney World: 2019
This past Friday, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Disney Social Media Celebration “on the road”. However, it was located right in Mickey and Minnie’s backyard, here at the Contemporary Resort, located steps from Magic Kingdom. If you don’t know about #DisneySMC it is a conference held for social media content creators, bloggers, and influencers, where we all come together to learn more about ways to improve our site, reach our audience, and of course more about Disney World, and what’s to come in the coming months. If you’re an avid Disney go-er or an annual passholder, you may already know about these upcoming events, shows, and attractions.
If you don’t know about all the new things coming, no worries, I am going to share it all with you! All of this information is straight from the amazing Cast Members of Disney from the Conference.

Galaxy Edge:

Star Wars Galaxy Edge is opening up August 29th!! and I’m so excited to say, I got to go inside and be one of the first people to see it! I was not able to take pictures, or record anything, but all I can say is that Disney pays close attention to every single detail, and when you all see this, you’re going to die!! My husband is a huge Star Wars fan, so he’s jealous that I got see it before he did. There will be 2 entrances to the park, one near the muppets, and one from toy story land.
What to expect at Galaxy’s Edge:
- Millennium Falcon: Fly the Millennium Falcon on a thrilling interactive smuggling mission
- Rise of The Resistance: This is an attraction where you can join the battle against the First Order, opening up December 5th
- Oga’s Cantina: Try some local beverages and curious concoctions.
- Docking Bay 7 Food and Beverage: Come inside a working hanger and indulge in some galactic favorites.
- Milk Stand: Get some Blue or green milk that Luke Skywalker drank in the Star Wars movies.
- Ronto Roasters: Grilled sausages and roasted pork wraps.
- Kat Saka’s Kettle: Get some sweet and savory popcorn here!
- and lots of shops that you can gear up on all things Star Wars.
On top of all the new and exciting things coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Now being a Disney resort guest, you have access to extra EXTRA magic hours. If you’re not familiar with magic hours, its basically when you stay at a Disney resort you are granted extra time in the parks, whether it’s before the park officially opens or after in closes. Well, starting September 1st through November 2ND, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is offering EXTRA EXTRA magic hours from 6:00am to 9:00am!
Star Wars Galaxy Edge truly is going to be epic. While on my tour through the Galaxy Edge, a lady in my group said “I remember when I was 5 years old watching Star Wars in theaters for the first time, and dreaming of the day a place like this would exist, and now I’m in my late 40s and walking in it”. Building Galaxy’s Edge is a place for long time fans to go to, and remember their childhood and what Star Wars is for them, and for newer generations to inspire them to watch and fall in love with the movies.
Fun Fact: I went into labor watching Star Wars, and little Joel was born several hours later, at home!
Anyways, I hope this post was informational and helps you stay up to date with everything new at Disney, and what’s coming for the rest of 2019. Make sure you follow me on Instagram, where I share lots of fun family pictures of us at Disney, home and on our travels.
