Get to know Aseky more

It’s been awhile since I’ve introduced myself on here or on my social media channels. I think sometimes I get lost in motherhood, and keeping up with these little gremlins that all I really talk about is them. So I’m just going to take the time to share some details and facts about me, Aseky!

  1. I am only 25 years old. People never believe me when I tell them that. Most of the time they don’t believe me because I have 5968904 kids. But I was born in 1993, so still a baby!
  2. I was born, raised and currently living in the same city. I have literally been here for 25 years. When we were looking for a house, we tried to venture out of our hometown, but we kept coming back.
  3. Speaking of buying a house, my husband and I bought our house at the young age of 22 and 23 years old. RJ had just turned 3, and Elias was almost 5 months old.
  4. My favorite color is Pink. Although, I wont wear it like I will wear black. But I am obsessed with all things pink.
  5. I have owned 5 cars in my life, and all of them were purchased with my husband.
  6. I have gotten 3 tickets in my life. One was for speeding, I was 17 years old and I was going 31 mph in a 25. Another was when I was 7 months pregnant, I made an illegal U-turn and right when I did it, a cop came around the corner and caught me. And my last one was for not slowing down to 20mph or not moving to another lane for a pulled over cop. I took it to court, and it got dropped.
  7. I have never been in the hospital aside from the birth of my babies.
  8. I am NOT a morning person. It takes me a full 30 minutes to 1 hour to fully wake up. My husband on the other hand, IS a morning person.
  9. I have been working nights for 5 years, and September 14th will finally be the end of it all!!
  10. When I was a kid, I had lots of pets including Dogs, Guinea Pigs, Mice, Snakes, Turtles and Birds. Not all at once though. But we currently do not have ANY pets now.
  11. I’m deathly afraid of Bees. One time, I was leaving the post office, and I was driving off I saw a bee in the car. I literally threw the car in park and ran out screaming. Sounds stupid, but parent of the year over here…I left RJ in the car. Then someone drove by and was like “are you okay?” so I said “there’s a bee in my car!” and she said “oh shit!” and drove off.
  12. I am also afraid of Hurricanes. I’ve lived in Florida my entire life, and have lived through several hurricanes. But I don’t think I’ll ever get use to them. Especially now that we own a house and we have kids, there is just so much more at risk.
  13. I’m a crazy planner. I love planning events, dates, shopping trips, anything. Just give me an event and a pen and paper and ill make an itinerary.
  14. I’m also obsessed with interior design. Since I was young (like 7 years old young) I use to draw up floor plans on graph paper and draw different elevations…for fun. So once Laila is a little older, Interior design is something I’m hoping to study. My mom always thought architect, but I’ve always hated geometry.
  15. I honestly don’t care about watching TV. There are a few shows I watch with my husband, but I’m not the type to sit on my couch and just watch tv. I rather flip through magazines, or scroll through pinterest thinking of my next project.
  16. Speaking of project…my mind always has to be occupied with something. For example, when Renaldo and I were engaged, my mind was consumed with wedding planning. After we got married, we got pregnant literally the following month, My mind was consumed with baby stuff (nursery, car seat, names, products, etc). After Elias was born, we were on the market for a house, so my mind was consumed with MLS and searching for a house. We closed on the house, then it was décor room-by-room. Then I got pregnant again, so back to baby mode. After Joel was born, We began home renovations, so then it was consumed with all things renovation. After our renovations were mostly complete, it was my best friend’s bachelorette party/wedding and us traveling. So planning all of that. Once she was married and we were done traveling, I got pregnant again….so here I am obsessing over all things Laila. Don’t ask me what my next obsession will be…time will only tell.
  17. I have had the same cellphone number for over 14 years. And yes, you did the math correct….25 (years old) minus 14 (years), equals 11. I’ve had a cellphone since I was 11.
  18. I have been to 11 states (almost 12, we’re going to Arizona in a couple weeks). And I have traveled to 5 different countries (2 of them I went with Renaldo).
  19. I’m an introvert AND extrovert. I have no problem being around people and socializing, but I have my limit and then I just want to go home and snuggle in bed. I’m the type of person who Will go to a party and have a great time, but I wont stay all night.
  20. My mom was born and raised in Panama (the country in Central America not Spring Break capital in Florida) and my dad was born and raised in Dominican Republic. No, I don’t speak Spanish, but I DO fluently understand it.
  21. I had braces for almost 3 years. Still to this day my mom will never let me forget how much my braces cost her.
  22. I have had the same best friend since I was 7 years old. We legit wore matching outfits, had sleepovers every other weekend, and I got mistaken for their adopted daughter a couple times.
  23. I buy everything from target. Groceries, the kid’s clothes, electronics, home décor…you name it, there is a target tag on it.
  24. I talk to my sister in law EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.(at least) 8,TIMES.A.DAY. When Renaldo doesn’t answer the phone, I hang up and dial her number immediately. She has a funny meme she cant stop laughing about, she calls me. I get a good collab, I call her. The mailman stuff 4 packages and my mail in my mailbox (and I’m livid), I call her. She needs to vent about work, she calls me. We just get each other.
  25. Last fact, Renaldo and I have been together since beginning of 10th grade. We did homecoming, prom and graduation together. We were with each other when we got our learners permit. He was there when I was boo-hoo crying because I didn’t pass my drivers test haha. And we were with each other when we got our first jobs.

Thanks for reading this post. In the coming days and weeks, I will be sharing a lot of pregnancy updates (nursery, bump dates, registry guide, must have baby products, etc) and back to school stuff! I am just taking it slow before the crazy busy season creeps upon me.
