Toddler approved Fruit and Veggie shake

It’s no secret that I may or may not have the most pickiest 2 year old in all of Central Florida. There are some days, he will eat anything I give to him, and then there are days he will only eat his basic four (Oatmeal-Mac and Cheese-Fruit-Chicken Nuggets). So a well balanced diet is pretty hard to achieve. I’m thankful for his multivitamin gummies, but sometimes I just want him to eat greens. While that’s near impossible, I finally found a way to sneak greens into his diet. Elias loves smoothies and milk shakes, and he loves his new colorful reusable silicone straws from Greenpaxx, so I decided to put those two together!


The toddler approved shake:

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries (4 large)
  • Banana (1 whole)
  • Spinach (handful)
  • Peanut butter (2 spoonfuls)
  • Yogurt (1 container)

Steps:

  1. Prep your fruit: wash and take the stem off the strawberries, wash the spinach, and peel your banana.
  2. Toss everything into the blender ( I use the nutribullet)
  3. Blend for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Pour into cup, place your fun colorful straw into it and ENJOY!

Tip #1: Adding peanut butter to it, really masks the taste of the spinach. Elias loves his Pic’s peanut butter,which is an all natural peanut butter from New Zealand . For some more nutrients, you can even add some flaxseed and chia seeds to it! They won’t even notice!

Tip #2: Using fun straws for your little one can make all the difference. When introducing the green shake to Elias, he was more excited about the colorful straws than he was about the shake.
